Our mission

The mission of the Salim and Salimah, Safe and Sound campaign is to reduce tragic and unnecessary loss of life by:-

• raising awareness of how driver behaviour causes motor vehicle crashes and the risk factors for death and injury among child passengers
• advocating the use of proper restraints
• increasing public demand for better car and occupant safety and raising standards for our children to a level equivalent those in the developed world
• developing free, web-based information resources in English and Arabic to ensure greatest accessibility for a wider audience.

Support the mission

The creation and maintenance of this website has been funded by Al Mustadaama (Sustainability) LLC, an Omani non-profit company and project manager of the Salim and Salimah coalition campaign. We welcome support to help sustain our effort and achieve the further objectives listed below. You can support us in any one of the following ways:-

Corporate marketing/branding

Show your commitment to raising awareness and reducing death and injury on the road by purchasing campaign car-shades, t-shirts, key rings, shopping bags or other merchandise featuring the distinctive Salim and Salimah logo for distribution to your employees and business contacts.

In-kind contributions

We gladly accept in-kind donations that help support our mission. Below is a partial list of in-kind donations of our current needs that would enhance our mission. Contact us if you can provide any of the following:-

• • Graphic design services
  • Printing services for kids stationery/brochures/posters
  • Baby vests (to be printed with safety logo) for maternity wards

Current objectives – 2008

Our objectives for this year include:-

• Screening the campaign film and road safety presentations in schools, colleges, health and community centres, mosques
• Developing this website, administration and circulation
• Designing, printing and distribution of information brochures, posters and kids’ literature in Arabic and English.
